WELCOME

Rainbow's End Habitats, Inc. is a not-for-profit group dedicated to the restoration, creation and education of natural butterfly habitats.

Congradulations and thanks for sponsoring a Monarch Butterfly and it's long journey home to Mexico!

Since 2007 one of our activities has been to tag and release thousands of Monarch butterflies to gather data about their incredible journey!

Thank you for participating in our fall season of Monarch tagging sponsored by Rainbow's End Butterfly Farm & Nursery. Your tagging efforts, and the subsequent recoveries of tagged butterflies, contribute to overall understanding of the dynamics of the monarch population.

The Tag & Release program is essential to the collection of scientific data regarding the fall migration of the Monarch population east of the Rocky Mountains. We need to find out more about how the Monarchs move across the continent and how their journey is influeneced by the weather and other conditions. It is only through the help of people like you that these questions and more can be answered.

One of our goals is to assure the perpetuation of Monarch migration in eastern North America. To accomplish this goal, we need to monitor the Monarch population and educate the public and the policy makers to all factors, human caused and natural, which affect the Monarch population. By participating in this program and educating others about Monarchs, and the conservation issues associated with this species, you will help in the efforts to maintain the Monarch migration.
